Isaiah 29-22 Wax pale?
One of the favorite verses the Black Hebrew Israelites like to use is Isaiah 29-22 to prove that the Israelites were Black and that they were told by God that the house of Jacob, the Israelites, their faces would not wax pale, they would not become WHITE.
Isaiah 29-22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
So the claim being that the faces would not wax pale and so would not become white thus proving that the Israelites were black.
Again when all we do is take this verse on its own it at least can appear to say what the claim says….HOWEVER…anyone who has read any of my writings on the Hebrew Israelites knew the however was coming….come on you know you did….
Anyway…HOWEVER when we analyze the scripture yet again it fails to hold up to the claim.
If we are going to take it to mean literally not turning into a white person then the first thing that needs to be address is the word NOW, actully NO NO NO LJ, the first thing to address would be the simple fact that NOT turning white would NOT in ANYWAY demonstrate that they were black There is NOT a dichotomy of colours on this earth. Not being white does NOT automatically mean black. But anyway…. the Hebrew word is עַתָּה attah and means exactly what the English now means, at this present time or moment. So God stated from NOW their face would not wax pale. If wax pale means to become white then God was saying from NOW, from that moment on they would not become white which rather implies that BEFORE that moment, before NOW they had indeed waxed pale or become white. So there had been white Israelites.
But actually to wax pale doesn’t mean to become white as in for a person’s skin to change from black to white, this is simply read into the text, but then the Hebrew Israelites are masters when it comes to eisegesis . Waxed pale or become pale is the Hebrew word חָוַר châvar, khaw-var’; and the meaning is to become pale or white but its primitive root is to blanch (as with shame):—wax pale.
To become pale with shame not literally changing from black to white skin colour………really I needed to explain this!!!!! There are actually cults teaching this….
Anyway it’s exactly what is stated in the verse.
“ Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.”
They would no longer be ashamed and their face “wax pale” from the shame.
Hopefully this has helped someone who has dealt with or who is dealing with the Hebrew Israelites.
