Is God omnipresent? What does the Bible say

The word omnipresent does not appear in the Bible an so many people do argue that as this word does not appear in the Bible that God is not, in fact, omnipresent.

Lets have a look at the dictionary definition of omnipresent:

Adjective:

present or having an effect everywhere at the same time:

The singer became an omnipresent icon of style and beauty

Cambridge dictionary

Lets have a look at one more:

adjective

present everywhere at the same time: the omnipresent God.

The Jehovah’s witnesses teach that God is not everywhere at the same time.

God is able to see everything and to act anywhere he chooses. (Proverbs 15:3; Hebrews 4:13) However, the Bible does not teach that God is omnipresent—that is, present everywhere, in all things. Instead, it shows that he is a person and that he resides in a dwelling place.”

JW.ORG

As we can see, they have used 2 verses, proverbs 15:3 and Hebrews 4:13 in support of their position. These verses actually teach the opposite of what the JW website claim that they do.

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Clearly if the eyes of the LORD are in everyplace it must mean that all is visible to him at the same time.

Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

The verse in Hebrews teaches the same thing. However, the JW website teaches that they only mean that all is visible to God, not that God is everywhere, but rather he dwells in a spirit realm.

God’s dwelling place: God resides in the spirit realm, which is distinct from physical creation. Within that realm, God has a “dwelling place in the heavens.” (1 Kings 8:30) The Bible mentions an occasion when spirit creatures “entered to take their station before Jehovah,” a showing that in a sense, God resides at a specific location.—Job 1:6.”

This could be possible if we did not have other verses that also teach that God is everywhere, not just able to visually see everywhere.

We cannot simply take a selection of verses alone and ignore and put our own interpretation into those verses. We must take the selected verses and put them along with the rest of what the Bible actually teaches.

Jeremiah 23:24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

Psalm 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy Godiswith thee whithersoever thou goest.

Genesis 28:15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. 16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

The fact is that the Bible does teach that God is everywhere, not simply that he can see everywhere. When we take the Bible as a whole the JW teaching simply does not hold up.
