The book of Enoch is not scripture.

The book of Enoch is a highly debated book. Is it holy scripture or not? It is not included in the canon of the Catholic or Protestant Bibles. It was also not included in the apocrypha and it must be pointed out that this book has never been included as part of the Jewish Tanakh. The Ethiopian Jews, otherwise known as beta Israel, however do include this book amongst their canon. The Ethiopic Jews have a canon that consists of 81 book which is 15 more than the protestant Bible and eight more than even the Catholic Bible has.

Many other people, who are not of Beta Israel, however, do believe that this book is a book inspired by God and should be included as part of the biblical texts.

It is believed that Jude quotes from this book in his own writing that is included as holy scripture in the Bible.

It is often asserted that if Jude quoted from the book of Enoch then the book should also be considered holy scripture. To this it must pointed out that even if Jude did in fact quote the book of Enoch this wouldn’t automatically make this holy scripture as Paul often quoted non inspired non biblical writings. Quoting a writing does not make that quoted writing scripture if it isn’t actually scripture, all it means is that it was used as a reference point.

Many of those people who believe that the book is a book inspired by God also claim that the book of Enoch has been deliberately removed from the canon of the Bible. It is claimed that the book of Enoch was in fact once revered as scripture, even being quoted by early church fathers such as Irenaeus and Tertullian, but it was the Church that removed it from its Canon. While it is true that the book is quoted by Early Church Fathers it is again incorrect to say that this makes the book holy scripture. As with the biblical quotes of Paul of non biblical writings, quoting a writing does not make it scripture if it is not.

One of the main reasons given as to why the church removed the book of Enoch is that the book of Enoch contains information that the church did not want the normal everyday person to know, such as a detailed explanation of the how the sons of God, the angels, sinned against God by leaving their domain in heaven, mated with human woman and produced giant offspring called the Nephilim. The book also names many angels that are not named within the Bible such as Raphael, Phanuel and Azazel.

The “truths” that this book contains purposefully being kept secret, known only by the few. Another reason often given is that the book of Enoch attests to and prophecies of the Messiah. As the Jews rejected the Messiah, Jesus, they too rejected literature that would support Jesus as the Messiah.

I would suggest reading my writings on who were the sons of God and also who were the Nephilim?

An important fact to highlight here is that there are actually 3 books of Enoch, 1st Enoch, also known as Ethiopic Enoch , 2nd Enoch, also known as the Slavonic Enoch and 3rd Enoch, also known as the Hebrew Enoch.  However it is 1st Enoch that is generally accepted by those that believe in the book of Enoch as being the one that is the original and actual book of Enoch inspired by God that should be in the holy scriptures.

Before we analyse the actual text and the factual information it apparently contains, we need to take a closer look at the book of Enoch and some of the claims that revolve around it.

It is asserted within the book of Enoch that Enoch himself wrote the book. Those who hold to the belief in the book generally also make this claim. The reason that Tertullian advocated the book as holy scripture was actually because he himself held to the belief that Enoch wrote the book. This assertion goes against the general scholarly consensus of today.

Most scholars generally believe that the book of Enoch is not one single book but originally was 5 separate writings that were later correlated into one book.

These would be

  • The Book of the Watchers (1 Enoch 1–36)
  • The Book of Parables of Enoch (1 Enoch 37–71) (also called the Similitudes of Enoch)
  • The Astronomical Book (1 Enoch 72–82) (also called the Book of the Heavenly Luminaries or Book of Luminaries)
  • The Book of Dream Visions (1 Enoch 83–90) (also called the Book of Dreams)
  • The Epistle of Enoch (1 Enoch 91–108)

The writing style changes numerous times and it is most commonly believed to have been penned by various authors. This would not be the case if Enoch had written the whole book himself.

There are more problems with the assertion that Enoch is the Author.

Enoch, who was the great grandfather of Noah, lived before the Biblical flood which means that Noah would have had to have taken a copy of the book on board the Ark for preservation . There is no scriptural support for this, or biblical attestation to the book having been written at this time. We have no biblical support for this book having been preserved by Noah through the flood. The Bible does not refer to Noah having taken this writing aboard the Ark.

Furthermore, scholars date the older portions of the book, specifically the book of the watchers, to somewhere around 300 BC – 200 BC. The later parts to around 100 BC. This causes some major problems with the claim that Enoch wrote the book seeing Enoch lived well over 2000 years before these dates. Even if we took the earliest date being 300 BC there is no way that Enoch could have authored the book. We could even go beyond the general affirmation and push the writing back 100 years to 400 BC, 200 years to 500 BC or even 700 years to 1000 BC and we still wouldn’t even be getting close to aligning the life of Enoch and the origin of the book.

Then we have a major problem with the language of the book of Enoch.

The Ethiopic Jews claim that the original language of the book of Enoch is Ge’ez. Again many of those who claim the book is inspired by God also assert that Ge’ez is the original language. This in itself goes against the scholarly consensus which would hold to the position that the original language was either Aramaic or Hebrew (or a mixture of the two).

But again let’s say that the original language was in fact Ge’ez. There is no possible way that Enoch would or more correctly, could have written his book in Ge’ez. Enoch as we already know lived before the flood. This also means that Enoch lived before the events of the tower of Babel which came after the flood. This is a fundamental problem to the assertion the original language of the book was Ge’ez, Aramaic or Hebrew (and also the assertion Enoch wrote the book). It was not until AFTER the events of the tower of Babel that God divided the world into different languages. Until this point the whole world was of ONE language.

Genesis 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. 8So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Had Enoch written in Ge’ez or in fact Aramaic or Hebrew  then this would have meant that Ge’ez, Aramaic or Hebrew, whichever the original language of Enoch was, would have been the original language of the whole world, that everyone spoke, before the world’s languages were divided. Adam, Enoch and even Noah would all have spoken this original language. This is simply a ridiculous assertion that would need to be a fact for it to be a fact that Enoch wrote in Ge’ez, Aramaic or Hebrew. I do not know of anyone with any credibility that would claim that any of these languages was the original language of the world (no this does not prove beyond any doubt that one of them wasn’t) although I would say that anyone making such a claim has some serious amount of burden of proof for this claim and it is for them to demonstrate.

Ge’ez is believed to be a south Semitic language. The language originates from the region encompassing southern Eritrea and the northern Ethiopia regions.

It is disputed as to exactly when the language originated, however the date ranges give an earliest estimated date as the 4th Century BC. Again this is just too late to have been the original language of the book of Enoch(or the world). We know of MUCH MUCH older languages than Ge’ez which means Ge’ez was not, nor could not have been the original language of the world. We also know of older languages than both Aramaic and Hebrew. Enoch could not have personally written in Ge’ez, Aramaic or Hebrew as none of these languages existed at the time Enoch lived. It is FAR more likely that had Enoch written a book or in fact written anything it would have been in some kind of Cuneiform. There are NO writings of Enoch in Cuneiform, that we know of anyway. This means Enoch, if he did write a book, wrote it in a language that we have no surviving copies of.  All the other versions are, at best, translations. We therefore cannot verify the translations against the original language. We therefore cannot tell how accurate any of these translations are. The English translation is translated from the Ge’ez which is an already translated version.

In 1773 the famous explorer James Bruce returned from Ethiopia (known then as Abyssinia) with 3 copies of the Ethiopian Enoch written in Ge’ez. The Ethiopian Jews had translated the book into their language and had included it in their canon.

The first English translation was published in 1821 by Richard Laurence, titled The Book of Enoch, the prophet: an apocryphal production, supposed to have been lost for ages; but discovered at the close of the last century in Abyssinia; now first translated from an Ethiopic manuscript in the Bodleian Library. Oxford, 1821.

This book was further edited in 1833, 1838 and 1642

Because Ge’ez cannot be the original language IF Enoch is the author, we can only verify the accuracy of the English compared to the Ge’ez, which is already a translation. We do not know how accurate the Ge’ez translation was to the writings in original language.

What’s more,  the oldest existing copy of the book of Enoch in Ge’ez is actually from the 15th Century…..AD. This is 3500+  years after the book of Enoch would have been written.

There are 2 families of manuscripts, the oldest being family A

As you will see we do not have many and they are all very late.

  • A – ms. orient. 485 of the British Museum, 16th century, with Jubilees
  • B – ms. orient. 491 of the British Museum, 18th century, with other biblical writings
  • C – ms. of Berlin orient. Petermann II Nachtrag 29, 16th century
  • D – ms. abbadiano 35, 17th century
  • E – ms. abbadiano 55, 16th century
  • F – ms. 9 of the Lago Lair, 15th century

This is also some 1300 + years after the book of Jude had been written. There is no way that it can be shown that the quote of Jude was taken from the book of Enoch seeing the copy of the book of Enoch is younger than the quote in Jude. Now it is very true, as many will at this point now be saying, that the book of Enoch, or at least fragments of the book of Enoch were found amongst the dead sea scrolls. The dead sea scrolls are much older than the 15th Century AD. They date from between 300 BC-100 AD.  Therefore we DO have manuscripts of the book of Enoch that predate the book of Jude. BUT it is important to note here that the fragments found were in Aramaic and not Ge’ez.

  • 4Q201 = 4QEnoch a ar, Enoch 2:1–5:6; 6:4–8:1; 8:3–9:3,6–8

Again there are not many. (we must note that these manuscripts are relatively early with NONE coming from the last period of the Qumranic experience.

Furthermore something that needs to be highlighted, something that is almost never stated by those using the dead sea scrolls as evidence that Jude quoted the book of Enoch, is that Enoch 1:9, which is the supposed verse of the book of Enoch which Jude quoted, is almost non existent in the Aramaic manuscripts. There is only one fragment that contains a small part of the verse. It is impossible to reconstruct and then correlate the wording in the Aramaic against the wording in Ge’ez. There simply is no way of knowing if the verse in the Aramaic matches that of the Ge’ez and so we cannot tell if verse that Jude supposedly quoted matched the quote of Jude before Jude quoted it. ALL that this shows is that the book of Enoch had been written and was known of before Jude wrote his book which included the supposed quote. Those who deny that Enoch is scripture do not deny that there was a book called the book of Enoch at the time Jude wrote his book. It does not show that the verse as it is found in the Ge’ez is the same as how it would have been in the Aramaic or the Ge’ez for that matter,  that predated Jude had the book been in the Ge’ez language at the time of Jude wrote his book. Therefore we cannot say that Jude quoted the verse as it is found in the book of Enoch today. It is just as likely that the verse in Enoch was later adapted to match the quote in Jude.

You can see the manuscript fragments of the dead sea scrolls at this webpage 4Q204

One simple way we can know that the date of the book of Enoch is later than the time of Enoch, MUCH MUCH MUCH later is the fact that Enoch names the Persians and the Medes by NAME

Book of Enoch 54:9Then shall princes (52) combine together, and conspire. The chiefs of the east, among the Parthians and Medes, shall remove kings, in whom a spirit of perturbation shall enter. They shall hurl them from their thrones, springing as lions from their dens, and like famished wolves into the midst of the flock.

These didn’t come about until AFTER 536 BC. The Persians and the Medes did not exist at the time of Enoch yet Enoch names them….Ok yes this is meant to be a prophecy HOWEVER if we look at biblical prophecy names of future nations that do not exist at the time of the prophet who is writing the prophecy are not named.

Let look at the prophecy of Daniel 7 for example

Daniel 7:1In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. 2Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. 4The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. 5And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it hadthree ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. 6After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. 7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. 8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The prophecy interpreted

Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. 18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. 19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

NOWHERE does Daniel name kingdoms that yet did not exist.

This shows that the writer of the “prophecy” in the book of Enoch was already aware of the Persians and the Medes. This shows that the book was written after 536 BC.

But let’s have another look at the supposed “quote” which is found in the book of Jude.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

The truth is the “book” of Enoch is not actually quoted in the Bible. It is in fact not even mentioned. It is only inferred that the book is quoted. This is simply incorrect.

When we look at the supposed reference to the book of Enoch in the book of Jude we will see that Jude does not reference a book of Enoch at all.

Jude simply states that Enoch prophesied. Jude does not say that Enoch wrote or that the book of Enoch says. The reference of Jude is simply to the prophecy of Enoch that Enoch had said. Before the books of the Bible were written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit there were no writings. It was only orally passed down from person to person. Jude quotes what Enoch prophesied not the book of Enoch. Not ONE prophet in the whole Tanakh appeals to what Enoch wrote. Nowhere does anyone cite a book written by Enoch. Enoch is hardy mentioned at all. The prophets silence on the book of Enoch is deafening.

But let’s compare the supposed quote in the book of Jude with the book of Enoch itself. We will see a major flaw in the claim Jude quoted the book of Enoch.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

But the book of Enoch says

And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones to execute judgment upon all, And to destroy all the ungodly: And to convict all flesh of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” (The Book of Enoch 1:9)

Notice the fundamental difference between the message that each of these two books portrays here????? It’s subtle but its devastating.

The book of Jude states that he has come to CONVINCE the ungodly while the book of Enoch states he has come to DESTROY the wicked.

The Greek word translated as Convince in the KJV is ἐξελέγχω exelegchó.

The message of the Bible is that the Lord has come to show the sinners their sin and that they will see their sin and know it. The message of the book of Enoch is that the Lord has come to destroy those sinners.

These are not the same. In fact they are at complete odds to one another. If Jude did quote the book of Enoch then he completely missed the point that Enoch had made and when quoting it changed the meaning entirely.

If the book of Enoch truly were the word of God then the information contained within would align with the information contained within the Bible. It would not give contradictory information.

The book of Enoch makes some wild claims that are in no way biblical

How tall were the giants?

The Book of Enoch say that the giants were 450 ft tall

Enoch 7:12 Whose stature was each three hundred cubits. These devoured all [which] the labor of men [produced]; until it became impossible to feed them;

A cubit was approx 18” 300 x 18 shared between 12 = 450ft

The ark that Noah built was 300 cubits in length

Genesis 6:15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

This would make these giants the same height as the ark was long.

Now let’s put this into real perspective. The statue of liberty is 310 ft tall (including the base…………) , Big Ben is 320 ft tall. The tallest trees in the world are the Redwoods found in California. Many are easily 300+ ft tall, however in 2006 one was discovered (named Hyperion) that stands an amazing 379 ft tall.  ALL of these would be dwarfed by the giants that are described in the book of Enoch. In fact the giants would be almost exactly the same height as the great pyramid in Giza which is 455 tall.

Now many people have used “pictures” of supposed giant skeletons found. However when we actually look into these pictures none are verified and none would even come close to showing a giant of 450 ft tall.

The reality of 450 ft tall giants is beyond imagination and simply ridiculous. There is no support for this claim in history,  archeology or the Bible.

The Bible clearly states the height of the giants.

Please read my writing on the Nephilim if you haven’t already. In this writing I prove that the Nephilim were not 450 ft tall, not even close.

The book of Enoch makes the heretical claim that the angel Phanuel presides over repentance and the hope of those who will inherit eternal life.

Enoch 40:9 The second is he who presides over every suffering and every affliction of the sons of men, the holy Raphael. The third, who presides over all that is powerful, is Gabriel. And the fourth, who presides over repentance, and the hope of those who will inherit eternal life, is Phanuel. These are the four angels of the most high God, and their four voices, which at that time I heard.

It is JESUS that is the hope of eternal life. Any claim to the contrary is simply a heresy.

Another claim by those that assert the book of Enoch as scripture is that Jesus referred to himself as the son of man. However, this title that Jesus refers to himself as, is almost non existent in the Old Testament (almost but not entirely). The book of Enoch on the other hand refers to the Messiah as the son of man on numerous occasions

The book of Daniel does allude to the title son of man

Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

However, the book of parables or 1 Enoch 37-71 which is where we have the references to the son of man that are in the book of Enoch  is totally missing in the Aramaic fragments of the dead sea scrolls. Therefore we are left, yet again, with manuscripts that date to after the New Testament had already been written. It is just as likely that the son of man title was later inserted into the book of Enoch.

Furthermore, the book of Enoch actually makes Enoch, the son of man, the Messiah.

14 And He came to me and greeted me with His voice, and said unto me: “you
are the Son of Man who is born unto righteousness, and righteousness abides over
you, and the righteousness of the Head of Days forsakes you not.”
Book of Enoch chapter 71 verse 14

Obviously we know that Jesus is this son of man not Enoch.

The book of Enoch takes away the Messiahship of Jesus and puts it on Enoch.

The book of Enoch makes many more claims that contradict the Bible

The book of Enoch says that Enoch lived longer than the Bible says he did

The Bible says that Enoch lived 365 years

Genesis 5:23  And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:

However the book of Enoch says that Enoch lived for over 500 years.

Enoch 58:1 In the five hundredth year, and in the seventh month, on the fourteenth day of the month, of the lifetime of Enoch, in that parable, I saw that the heaven of heavens shook; that it shook violently; and that the powers of the Most High, and the angels, thousands and thousands, and myriads of myriads, were agitated with great agitation. And when I looked, the Ancient of days was sitting on the throne of his glory, while the angels and saints were standing around him. A great trembling came upon me, and terror seized me. My loins were bowed down and loosened; my reins were dissolved; and I fell upon my face. The holy Michael, another holy angel, one of the holy ones, was sent, who raised me up.

This is a 135 years difference between these 2 ages. They cannot both be correct. The book of Enoch very clearly contradicts the Bible.

Who is responsible for sin?

The Bible tells us that sin entered the world by one man, Adam

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

The story of this sin is found in the book of Genesis chapter 3

The book of Enoch however takes the blame away from Adam and puts the blame at the hands of Azazel. Azazel is the one according to Enoch who has been ascribed the crime.

Enoch 10:12 All the earth has been corrupted by the effects of the teaching of Azazyel. To him therefore ascribe the whole crime.

This teaching clearly contradicts the teaching of the Bible.

the Book of Enoch also says that it was an angel named Gadreel that led Eve astray.

Enoch 69:6. And the name of the third is Gadreel; this is the one that showed all the deadly blows to the sons of men. And he led astray Eve. And he showed the weapons of death to the children of men, the shield and the breastplate, and the sword for slaughter, and all the weapons of death to the sons of men.

However the Bible say that it was the serpent NOT Gadreel.

Genesis 3:1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Moreover the angels had not yet fallen at the time of Eve according to the book of Enoch . The book of Enoch has the angels falling when they saw the human woman which isn’t until chapter 6 of Genesis.

What happened to the woman that had sex with the angels?

According to the book of Enoch they became SIRENS

Enoch 19:1. And Uriel said to me: ‘Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with women, and their spirits assuming many different forms are defiling mankind and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons ⌈⌈as gods⌉⌉, (here shall they stand,) till ⌈⌈the day of⌉⌉ the great judgement in which they shall be judged till they are made an end of. 2. And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become sirens.’

A Siren is a woman/creature (part bird), a sea nymph, that lured sailors with their music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocks of the rocky Islands they inhabited. Sirens come from GREEK MYTHOLOGY….Firstly the Greeks were not in existence at the time of Enoch. Secondly its MYTHOLOGY. There are no creatures luring sailors to their destruction. These mythical Sirens were later adapted and became the mythical Mermaids of the sea. To believe that the book of Enoch is true is to also believe in Greek Myth.

Who built the Ark?

The Bible tells us that God had assigned the job of building the Ark to Noah.

Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

The book of Enoch however states that it was angels that built the Ark for Noah.

Enoch 66:1 In those days the word of God came to me, and said, Noah, behold, your lot has ascended up to me, a lot void of crime, a lot beloved and upright.

2Now then shall the angels labour at the trees; (61) but when they proceed to this, I will put my hand upon it, and preserve it.

(61) Shall…labour at the trees. Or, “are making a wooden (structure)” (Knibb, p. 156).

3 The seed of life shall arise from it, and a change shall take place, that the dry land shall not be left empty. I will establish your seed before me for ever and ever, and the seed of those who dwell with you on the surface of the earth. It shall be blessed and multiplied in the presence of the earth, in the name of the Lord.

This again very clearly takes away the works which have been very clearly ascribed to a man by the Bible and put them at the hands of angels. This contradicts the Bible.

The Book of Enoch teaches pagan mythology regarding the sun and its chariots

Enoch 71:2 This is the first law of the luminaries. The sun and the light arrive at the gates of heaven, which are on the east, and on the west of it at the western gates of heaven.

Enoch 71:3 I beheld the gates whence the sun goes forth; and the gates where the sun sets;

Enoch 71:4 In which gates also the moon rises and sets; and I beheld the conductors of the stars, among those who precede them; six gates were at the rising, and six at the setting of the sun.

Enoch 71:5 All these respectively, one after another, are on a level; and numerous windows are on the right and on the left sides of those gates.

Enoch 71:6 First proceeds forth that great luminary, which is called the sun; the orb of which is as the orb of heaven, the whole of it being replete with splendid and flaming fire.

Enoch 71:7 Its chariot, where it ascends, the wind blows.

Enoch 71:8 The sun sets in heaven, and, returning by the north, to proceed towards the east, is conducted so as to enter by that gate, and illuminate the face of heaven.

Enoch 71:9 In the same manner it goes forth in the first month by the great gate.

Josiah Destroys Idolatry

2 kings 23:11 And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entering in of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathanmelech the chamberlain, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

The Bible says that Jesus will stand upon the mount of olives

Zechariah 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

The book of Enoch claims that this will be mount Sinai…….

Enoch 1:2 From them I heard all things, and understood what I saw; that which will not take place in this generation, but in a generation which is to succeed at a distant period, on account of the elect. 3 Upon their account I spoke and conversed with him, who will go forth from his habitation, the Holy and Mighty One, the God of the world: 4Who will hereafter tread upon Mount Sinai; appear with his hosts; and be manifested in the strength of his power from heaven.

The book of Enoch says that Azazel taught men to make swords, daggers, shields and breastplates and showed the art of making them.

Enoch 8:1  And Azazel taught men to make swords, and daggers, and shields, and breastplates. And he showed them the things after these, and the art of making them; bracelets, and ornaments, and the art of making up the eyes, and of beautifying the eyelids, and the most precious stones, and all kinds of coloured dyes. And the world was changed.

This is AFTER the book of Enoch says the angels had fallen. The angels supposedly fall in Genesis chapter 6.

However the Bible says that Tubalcain was an instructor of every ARTIFICER of brass and Iron back in chapter 4 of Genesis.

Genesis 4:22And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

ARTIFICER is the Hebrew חֹרֵשׁ choresh which means craftsman.

Tubalcain was an instructor of the craft in brass and Iron.

This is BEFORE the angels had fallen.

Yet again the book of Enoch is shown to be in error.

There is also one final point that I would like to make note of.

While the book of Enoch does not specifically state that Noah was one of the children of the Angel human union, it no doubt alludes to this

And after some days, my son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech,
and she became pregnant by him, and gave birth to a son. 2. His body was white as snow and
red as the bloom of a rose, and the hair of his head was white as wool, and his eyes beautiful;
and when he opened his eyes, they illuminated the whole house like the sun, and the whole
house became exceedingly light. 3. And as he was taken from the hand of the midwife, he
opened his mouth, and conversed with the Lord of justice. 4. And his father Lamech was
afraid of him, and fled, and came to his father Methuselah. 5. And he said to him: “I have
begotten a singular son, unlike a man, but similar to the children of the angels of heaven, and
his creation is different, and not like ours, and his eyes are like the feet [i.e. rays] of the sun,
his face glorious. 6. And it seems to me he is not from me, but from the angels; and I fear
that wonderful things will happen in his days over the earth.
Enoch 106

But Noah (and his family)  was the only ones who were saved during the flood that supposedly was brought about because of this union.

Therefore we have God saving Noah, a Nephilim.

This literally makes no sense at all.

In the Bible Noah is described as being perfect in his generations

Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

It is almost certainly an individual’s attempt to explain what they felt was missing from the story found in Genesis.

The book of Enoch is not included as scripture simply because the book of Enoch is not scripture.

More errors in the book of Enoch will be added here.
