YHWH is the ONLY true God.

In the very first verse of the Bible it says that God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1-1 n the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

God therefore is WHAT created the heaven and earth. But who exactly is this God?

The Hebrew word translated as God is אֱלֹהִים elohim

So the Bible tells us that it was God who created the heaven and the earth

In another verse in Genesis we are told that the LORD God made the heavens and the earth

Genesis 2-4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

The Hebrew word translated as LORD is יְהֹוָה Yhwh, also known as the tetragrammaton.

This is the very first time that YHWH is used in the Bible.

We are told that the LORD God formed man.

Genesis 2-  7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

In the Book of Psalms we are told that the LORD who made us is GOD.

Psalm 100-3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

So YHWH is the elohim that made man.

In Deuteronomy we are told that the LORD is our God

Deuteronomy 5-6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

The literal translation is I YHWH (am) your Elohim.

So in this verse we are told God is WHAT he is and YHWH is WHO (name) he is.

YHWH therefore is the name of God. Just as my name is LJ but I am a human. LJ is WHO I am Human is WHAT I am.

The Bible also states that there is no other God but YHWH

Deuteronomy 4-35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

YHWH is God and there is none other than him

This is further illustrated where we are told that YHWH (LORD) is our God and that he is God

Deuteronomy 7-9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

In a very famous verse often used to prove that there is one God, Deuteronomy 6-4, it states

Deuteronomy 6-4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

This verse actually states that the LORD our God is ONE, rather than there is one God.

So YHWH our Elohim is one YHWH

NOT that there is one YWHW, but rather that YHWH is one, contrary to the trinitarian belief that YHWH is comprised of 3.

What we know

So far we know that there is a God. God is WHAT created the heaven and earth. YHWH is the name of that God. We know that there is no other God but the God called YHWH. YHWH is the ONLY God.  We also know that the God called YHWH is one YHWH.

Now the Bible calls YWHW, which we know is the name of God,  our FATHER.

Isaiah 64-8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Here the Bible literally calls YHWH our father

Also stated in another passage in Isaiah

Isaiah 63-16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name isfrom everlasting.

So the God called YHWH is the father.

The OT is very clear WHO the father is and WHAT the father is.

The father is our God who is called YHWH. There is just one God called YHWH and YHWH is one.

When the Bible states either God or God the father, we know that this is referring to YHWH and NONE other but YHWH.

The New Testament

The New Testament was written in Greek and not Hebrew as the OT was.  So the Hebrew Tetragrammaton is not used in the New Testament. The specific name YHWH therefore is not found in the NT. However the word God is. We know that God is WHAT YHWH is. The word God is translated from the Greek word θεός. Theos is the Greek word for God. There are times when the NT translates Theos as something other than God such as god. When the word God has a capital letter at the beginning this is referring to the one true God who we know is YHWH. Any other rendering of Theos is not referring to the one true God.

We already know that God is not a name but a WHAT. God is WHAT YHWH is.

When we see the word God with a capital G we know that this is referring to the WHAT that YHWH is and the WHAT is called YHWH. So YHWH is the name of the God that is being referenced.

Trinitarians claim that Jesus is God. However they also claim that he is not the father but the son. God the son. Not a separate God than the father but the son is not the father.

When Jesus himself was asked which was the greatest commandment in the law he replied

MarK 12-29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Jesus quoted Deuteronomy 6-4. So we know that the God that Jesus was referring to in his reply  was the same God as in the God in Old Testament. The God that there is none other than YHWH. Again Jesus confirming that YHWH was one YHWH.

Jesus identified the one true God who we know is YHWH as the father, which again aligns with what the OT taught.

John 17- 1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent

As I just stated It is the understanding of the Trinity that Jesus is NOT the father but is also God. But Jesus identified the father, who he is not, as the ONLY true God. Therefore negating the belief that anyone other than the father is the true God. The Father is called YHWH so Jesus clearly saying that the ONLY true God was YHWH. If the only true God is YHWH and YHWH is the father but Jesus is not the father then Jesus is not YHWH.

Jesus taught the Jewish disciples how to pray

Matthew 6-9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Jesus said to pray to the father who he identified as the One true God who is YHWH.

Jesus further stated that the father was HIS father and his God.

John 20-17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

So His God is the father who is YHWH.

Jesus who is not the father has a God and that God is the ONLY true God the father who is YHWH. There is only one God, the father, YHWH.

YHWH is the father and the God of Jesus. Jesus therefore CANNOT be YHWH as YHWH is ONLY the father who Jesus is not.

The Jewish pharisees claimed that their father was God and that they only have one father.

John 8-41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

The Pharisees saying that the father called YHWH was their God.

The God of the Jews is the father who Jesus is NOT. The father is YHWH. Jesus is not the father who is the God of the Jews,  Jesus therefore is not the God of the Jews.

Paul wrote that there is ONE God who is the father

1 corinthians 8-6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

The WHOLE Bible is very clear that there is One God who is one. He is the father and his name is YHWH. ONLY the father is called YHWH and the father is the ONLY true God.

The fact that Jesus is not the father who is YHWH attests to the fact that Jesus is not YHWH and therefore is not God.

There really is no getting around the fact that Only the father is God. Our God who is our father who is YHWH.

Well chosen Scriptures. There is no God but YHWH. He is YHWH, the Father of His Christ as Psalm 2 and Psalm 82 declared. YHWH chose to make His son f the lineage of David, as Psalm 82 and 2 Samuel 7 tell us. Therefore, Jesus taught he was the son of David, the Christ, and the son of God in John 1 and Matthew 22 (at the beginning of his teaching and at the end, respectively).
